Avantika Dassani Reveals Mother Bhagyashree Advised Her Against Joining Films: ‘Too Many Heartbreaks’

Avantika Dassani, daughter of veteran actress Bhagyashree, has been making a mark in the entertainment industry, but her journey into films wasn’t always encouraged by her mother. In a recent interview, Avantika revealed that Bhagyashree had warned her against joining the film industry, citing emotional turmoil and heartbreak as key reasons.

Bhagyashree, who gained immense popularity with her debut in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) opposite Salman Khan, took a step back from mainstream cinema after marriage. Having experienced the highs and lows of the film industry firsthand, she was initially reluctant about Avantika following in her footsteps.

A Protective Mother’s Concern

Speaking about her mother’s advice, Avantika said, “My mother told me, ‘Don’t join films. There are too many heartbreaks, too many expectations, and a lot of struggle. It takes a toll on you emotionally.’” Despite her mother’s concerns, Avantika remained passionate about acting and eventually made her debut with the psychological thriller Mithya (2022), where she impressed audiences with her performance.

Avantika acknowledged that Bhagyashree’s words came from a place of love and experience. “She wanted to protect me from the unpredictable nature of the industry. But she also knew that if I was determined, I would find my own way,” Avantika shared.

While Bhagyashree was initially hesitant about Avantika entering Bollywood, she eventually came around and offered her unwavering support. She advised her daughter to focus on honing her craft and to stay mentally strong amid the challenges of showbiz. “She always tells me to focus on my work, keep learning, and never take failures personally,” Avantika added.

Avantika’s journey in the industry is still in its early stages, but she remains determined to carve out a niche for herself. She believes that while the industry is tough, passion and resilience can help overcome its challenges.

With a strong support system and the guidance of her mother, Avantika continues to navigate her way through Bollywood, proving that sometimes, despite parental apprehension, following one’s dreams is worth the risk.
